With the large volume of snow we just received, many fire hydrants are covered/blocked with snow. This creates a serious life safety hazard. Should there be an incident for which a fire hydrant is needed, in the time it will take for the Fire Department to locate and clear the fire hydrants, it could be the time when a life is heaven forbid lost. With the current predicted temperatures, the snow will likely not melt anytime soon.
